Fake and Phoney Degrees

What do we mean by a “Fake or “Phony” degree. They come in two forms that are actually slightly different.

The first form is Fake degrees; counterfeit copies of diplomas issued by genuine institutions.

The second form is Phoney degrees; diplomas issued in the name of an institution that either does not exist, but sounds plausible, or does exist but does not have the legal right to award degrees.

In our opinion, either of the above options is equally reprehensible and our advice is to HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM.

The suppliers, who usually offer other services such as Fake ID and Driving Licenses, often keep themselves out of jail by claiming their products are “novelties” and placing unconvincing warnings that, while the simple possession of their product is not illegal (which is true), they advise against the use of their products for improper purposes.

The possession of a Fake or Phoney degree for amusement and office decoration is one thing; the use of one as if it is genuine is quite another. The legal term for this practice is FRAUD, which is a serious crime in most jurisdictions.

The situation is quite simple.

If your list a Fake or Phoney degree in your CV or job application as if it were genuine, you are committing FRAUD! If you are discovered, you leave yourself open to criminal prosecution.
